Is It Really Worth It?

If you have a pulse, you have probably asked this question, “Is it really all worth it?”

As a parent, you may have asked yourself if all the constant prayers and the endless correction will ever get your child back on track. As a business owner, you may have wondered if all the hard work and training will ever get your staff on the same page to grow the company. As a legal professional, you may have cried out if justice will ever prevail. As a church leader, you may have questioned if all the teaching and coaching will ever the people to catch the vision to live their lives to the full. As a young person, you may have reconsidered if keeping yourself pure for marriage is really worth all your wait.

When pressure comes from all direction, nipping at our heels like an angry Chihuahua, we tend to ask ourselves if it’s worth it to STAND OUT or just blend in.

If there was anybody who must have asked that question a million times, it would be Noah. His thoughts were never recorded. But I can’t imagine him not aski

ng that question in the 100 years he built the ark in preparation for the flood… especially when rain was not frequent in his side of town. Yet, the Bible makes a big deal about Noah doing exactly as God had commanded him (Genesis 7:5).

Noah may have asked the same questions we have now. Yet, he persisted and did exactly what God told him to do. He may have faced opposition and ridicule from his own circle, but I bet God was so proud of Noah that He chose to record those words in the seventh chapter. As a result, Noah saved his family from the flood and God used his family to start afresh. His faith to take a stand and do exactly what God has told Him to is an example for us even today.

Are you asking yourself right now, “Is it really worth it?”

Open God’s Word and allow Him to speak to you today. If God has commanded you to do it, keep going. Our obedience to God always results in a blessing not only to us, but to others as well. And you will soon find out that it is worth it.
