Does God Want Me Healed?

Many of us have sought healing in many forms: physical, emotional, and spiritual. But the age-old question remains: Is it God’s will for me to be healed? Isaiah 53:5-6, a prophecy about the coming and sacrifice of Jesus, shows us our Father’s heart:
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
If you have watched the Passion, you may have cringed at the very sight of Jesus getting whipped: His back arched as the whip’s end dug and tore into his flesh. His body trembled as the next lash hit the bleeding wounds again, scraping more flesh off. Words are not enough to paint a picture of Jesus’ sacrifice. But all this to show you and me His heart and will for us: God wants us to be whole (spirit, soul, and body). God wants us to be healed (spirit, soul, and body). This verse is more than enough to answer the question: Is it God’s will to heal? Yes, He wants us healed. That’s why He took our place on the whipping post, so we can be healed and made whole. And if you’re the only human living on planet earth at that time, Jesus would still have come. He would still have taken that beating, the whipping, and the mocking. All because He loves you and wants you to be whole.
Jesus shared the heart of our Father in heaven in Matthew 7:9-11:
You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?
Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
If it’s hard to digest a prophecy in Isaiah 53:5-6, may a good parent’s heart in Matthew 7:9-11 convince you of God’s love. God is not mad at you. He loves you – and He likes you even when nobody else does! And He wants you healed and whole, just like any loving parent would for His child. It’s a gift He has in store for you. Will you receive it?
