Word Power

The Word of God was spoken so that it could be written and it was written so that it could be spoken. Where you are today is a result of the words you have spoken yesterday. Where you’ll be tomorrow is a consequence of what you speak today. Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) says so:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.

God’s great love for us ensured the writing of His Word, the Bible, so that we can speak words of life and blessings. Enough of those words of despair, doubt, and anger.

Struggling with your worth? Psalm 139:14 says God has created you intricately and wonderfully. He knew your name before you even got it. Burdened by your problems? 1 Peter 5:7 declares that God cares for you so let Him carry that weight in your heart. Gripped by fear? 1 John 4:18 encourages that God’s perfect love expels all your fears. Paralyzed by grief? Psalm 30:11 cries out that God will turn that sorrow into joy. Lacking for provision? Philippians 4:19 exhorts that God supplies all our needs.

You have not been left powerless, dear one. Your words have power to bring life or death. Question is, which words will you choose to speak today?
